Love, Sick 04:07
love is like a cancer treatment you wait and you see and you force me to that conversation so terminally now i feel like there’s a plague in me and it heavies my heart you lay me down so surgically, oh like you did at the start and honestly, i’m wasting my time i can’t remember my name and preferably, i’ll keep it inside and let it take me away just like, ooh i feel like i’m a burn victim and your kiss is a flame now i’m lying on my own, twitching, oh every thought is the same just like, ooh i can’t pretend not to love the sickness i can’t pretend not to come, every time you call i can’t pretend there’s a cure, to loving your disease i can’t pretend not to fall heavy to my knees love is strange

every time i look to you seems that you’re talking through your teeth and i must not have a clue ‘cause i end up talking why don’t you break me down, woman and sell me for parts? ‘cause you never had the balls, did you to break my heart every time i come to you feels like there’s something in between and I may not fill these shoes ‘cause it’s always something i wanna see through my eyes i been blind from the start guess i never had the balls, neither to break your heart i’m gonna come out swinging like you were from the start but you never had the balls, did you to break my heart why don’t you break me down, woman and sell me for parts? guess you never had the balls, neither to break my heart _______________________________________________________________ *I recognize the sexist usage of "balls" here - a regrettable lyric I would have changed if I was writing the song today (rather than two years ago). Still, I've chosen not to ditch the song entirely as I do feel that the lyrics can (and should) be understood as an examination of masculine chest-puffing as a barrier to individual and interpersonal emotional understanding.

Juliana 04:20
i could never tell you how juliana comes to me I could never say just once, i’ll say it again, i’ll say it juliana, come for me a bottomless sea is my life shine a light for me ‘cause I want you here i find it hard to ask you juliana, stay with me i know love can come and go and I’ve seen it before, I’ve seen it, so juliana, stay for me a desperate plea is my love shine a light for me 'cause I want you here are you tired of picking over bones?

Holy Man 01:29
she’s my angel and lord how she keeps me tangled in her arms i'll be a holy man oh lord, i’ll be a holy man for her she’s so saintly her eyes clear like the Virgin oh devil, i would sell my soul oh devil, i would sell my soul for her
5.
City Lights 05:20
quiet night you could take me to the bottle awfully quick city lights you can beat me in the alley if you like pretty girl you can change me into your fantasy i will be a shell city lights you can chain me to the concrete i would never tell you’re casting doubts on my fragile sense of self curse me out, beat me down, I won’t tell a quiet night and it takes me criminally from an honest sleep city lights can you hear me? do you miss me on Saturdays you’re casting doubts on my fragile sense of self curse me out, beat me down, I won’t tell send me back to my host of hosts

about

"Innerventions" was written and recorded in Summer 2013, only to be forgotten and excavated nearly a year and a half later and finally produced and released. A followup to February 2013's EP "Kid," it draws from traditions of rock and psychedelia to weave stories of love, self-doubt, and other universals.

"Innerventions" represents the rediscovery of a passion temporarily lost to life's "day-to-day." It's also a personal reminder that perfectionism is the greatest enemy of art.

To critical self-examination, relentless self-expression, radical love, and daily interventions,

Mark Tseng Putterman (a.k.a. Porco/Rosso)
